Long time no see…..no excuses from me; haven’t been making time to free-style blog.  Had to re-prioritize other areas of my life, and been doing a lot for my other blog/business Country Music Chat.  With that said, I miss this. I love creative, reflective and editorial style writing. I’ve always tried to share, not just my digital journey and Social Media experiences, but the search for my own “True North-ey.”

dead end ahead

I think we all can admit to holding on to certain things longer than we should’ve.  Bad habits, character flaws, people, places, things…

“Everything I've ever let go of has claw marks on it.”
― David Foster Wallace

All the “signs” are there that it’s time to turn around, but still we resist.  They say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result.

dead end

Read that last line again.

A point beyond which no movement or progress can be made.”

That means, quite frankly, you’re stuck…

When I am feeling lumbered with something, it’s REALLY uncomfortable.  Straight up makes me sick, sometimes! I get anxiety, can’t sleep, short tempered, can’t eat, over eat, drink too much, sleep too much, watch TV much…blah blah blah too much, blah blah too little, blah blah blah crazy….NOTHING in balance.

Wouldn’t it be AWESOME if life *especially people* came with instructions, and/or signs?  I know that all situations are different for each of us. Maybe you’re walking around on eggshells, having a panic attacks, getting pissed off at the wrong people and it’s just time to make a change.  Someone keeps telling you they’ll do something, they’ll change, but it never happens? Some situation keeps letting you down.  Stuck looks different for everyone.

While taking that “leap of faith” towards something else, it still means you have to jump.

Take inventory.  I like to write things down, and evaluate them. At the end of the day I am learning to trust my gut and when something quacks or waddles, I say, duck!

There are 2 basic emotions which all others come from. You’re either coming from a place of love, or place a fear.

Love is your “higher self” the place that place of joy, pure intentions, trust and hope.  When your higher self drives you, it’s like you’re on a mission and you feel empowered. Clarity and confidence  surges through you; you thrive and people around you, including your Social Media endeavors thrive.

Fear is the opposite of love.  It breeds anger, hate, disgust, sadness…your lower self.  Sometimes we need outside help to tackle those lower forces of emotion, so we can move forward to the life we want/desire.

I am not psychologist but I read this awesome “10 Things To Do When You Feel Stuck” on PsychologyToday.com. I like to feel like I am “taking action” and here are some of the things I do.

  • Remember to take a deep-breath and shake it off
  • Crank up the music
  • Get out of the physical space you are in ie office home and move around to shake it off
  • Meditation
  • Exercise
  • Talk to a trusted source, steer clear of toxic people.
  • Take a digital timeout
  • Clean the area around you.

What are some of the things you do to get relieve when you feel stuck?

Ace of Base ~ “I Saw The Sign”

I saw the sign and it opened up my eyes I saw the sign;
No one’s gonna drag you up to get into the light where you belong.
But where do you belong?”

This song got me through some hard stuff in life.
